After just 22 matches – they have a game in hand on their title “rivals” – they appear to have the title all but sewn up. It is surely only a matter of time before they are officially crowned as champions.

They were without a number of players this weekend, with the likes of James Milner, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri all unavailable. The latter found himself once again on the sidelines after picking up an injury prior to the clash, but a fitness update says that he will be in contention quickly.
