Footballers aren’t always the best-behaved bunch. With millions of youngsters watching them week-in-week-out we expect them to be role models, but often they don’t quite live up to that billing.

Whether they’re misbehaving on the pitch or off it, tales of what footballers are getting up to are never far from the front or back pages of our newspapers. Because they get paid thousands of pounds every week, we lap up any misdemeanour they’re involved in and lambast the players for it.
